delicious invite.

Invites delight my soul. Don't you love it when you get the mail and you see a beautiful envelope made out in your name? By the look of it you just know it's a wedding invitation. I know not all is as wedding crazed as me but does it not delight your soul? c'mon now... today was such a day for me.
As I gathered the mail I caught my name on a delicious envelope and I knew just what it was. I had already caught a glimpse of the invites from one of beautiful June brides but just seeing it in the mail made my heart soar!
I want to make special note of the invite because I have many brides that struggle with the design concept due to the extra info you add for the out of town guests. While there are many fun ways, my favorite way is the "pocket."

This is the back of the invitation. She had several cards in this pocket that fit super cute and perfect. I love love what she did with this map-just copied straight from the phone book! Makes it look so vintage with a hint of border romance. LOVE.

breathes personality.

I am completely in love with text in pictures. You must think it through before the wedding and have it ready but what a perfect edge it brings to the pictures.
It breathes personality!
Don't you agree?

save the date delight.

Okay I'll admit: I just love Save The Dates. Are they necessary? yes and no [some may argue. I stay neutral :)] Are they fun? absolutely! I think the reason I love them so much is that they can be so personable. I love them with the couple in the pictures and so when my eyes laid on this one, I was drawn in instantly.
I mean seriously?! High fashion delight.
Loving.

kiss away.

She's up there in my category as 'best photographers ever'. I've seen her pursue her passion with both arms outstretched and no inhibitions. She has inspired me to reach for the stars and not think I am less than I sometimes feel I am.
Suwanee and I have been friends since our sophomore year in high school. Our friendship continues to blossom and grow and it's not a coincidence to me that we ended up in the same field. She in wedding photography and myself in wedding planning. We just have always thought the same. Suwanee now lives in Spokane but we still manage to see one another at least once a year. This spring she is basking in my Wisconsin air and having some pretty tight photo opp sessions [info listed below]. I can promise you that you won't be disappointed with the images produced. I can also promise you that you will laugh the entire time your with her and you may find yourself kisses my cheeks after the session to thank me for referring her to you.
Kiss away my friends, kiss away.

a few of my MOST favorite things...

I first saw Heidi dance through the hallways with tall black boots and cute cardigans and I knew instantly we would be friends. Together, we wore pink boas and rebelled by walking on the grass. We spied on boys we liked and splashed in the pool.
Our first winter break at college, we decided to brave the roads home together-she was going to Michigan, I was going to Wisconsin. We sang through the night stopping at Denny's and skipping through snow. On the way home back to Dallas after Christmas is when we really bonded. Talks included 'sam the snake', new years eve fun, and even heart felt tragedies. We were inseparable after that. Many on campus thought we were twins and they would call me Heidi and her Liz. We loved that we looked the same and thoroughly enjoyed confusing people.
Our friendship continued to blossom even after we no longer lived 2 doors down. I moved to Spokane, WA and later back to WI. and she moved to MI. We married, had children and thrived on summer vaca's of bliss.
I believe that God brings you the right friend who just gets you. Someone who, when your with, just knows what your thinking. Someone who you can be who you are with and not pretend. You can share the depth of your heart and there is no judging or fear-because you know you are loved. Heidi is that to me. We have grown in our love for life, our relationship with our Lord, as mothers, wives and friends. We have had fights and cried with each other through hardships. She is my kindred spirit-she is my anne.
Today Heidi is 30. Anne, I want to thank you for always skipping through the fields with me & sipping coffees as we spill our hearts. Are you wearing red lipstick today? Go twirl in delight!

It just so happens that my most favorite person shares the same birthday as my Anne. My Robert Daniel is 32 today. He is a ray of delight for my eyes. Rob caught my eye around the same time that my friendship with Heidi started. He was older, and part of the elite cool guys on campus. His eyes twinkled when he smiled at me and I found myself smitten by his demeanor. We would lay in the fields studying as we talked about our future, he would pick me up from work with a dozen red roses or surprise me by leaving funny poems on my car windshield. He rented limos or town cars and would sweep me off to a romantic evening. Yes, he was that romantic! :) How could I not fall?! When he proposed to me we were staying at my parents home. He woke me up and brought me upstairs to the room he was sleeping in. It was about 6am and sometime in the night he had snuck out, found the nearest walmart, and bought flowers, a huge banner that read "I love you, Elizabeth. Will you marry me?" He had communion set up and as I walked in he grabbed his guitar and sang me a song. After that he got on his knee and asked me to become his wife. After I said yes we took communion. That was 11 years ago and yes, we have had unbelievable hardships as any couple, but I have never ever looked back. Rob is the love of my life. He completes me. God gave me such a gift when He gave me Robert.
I love you sweetie. Come dance with me.

These two people wrap up my favorite things week. And what a better way? The people that surround you are true treasures.

a few of my favorite things...

I told you there would be more to come! I just love spreading out my joy. :)

iPHONE... today I received my ever so long awaited iphone. I've desired one for over a year but had to wait out my Verizon contract. I've had an ipod touch for over 2 years and after having
that the desire for the iphone is just inevitable. :) Excuse the late at night picture. Don't judge- just bask. :)

SAVE THE DATES... this is one of my clients that I just love. I fell in love with their save the date-can they be any cuter? and it's a Polaroid which fits them & their wedding theme perfectly. I cannot wait for their Sept wedding!

There will be absolutely more favorite things to come later in the week so come back!

these are a few of my favorite things..

photo:suwanee lennon

It's march! :) I feel like my spirit is doing a little dance today as I bask in the melting snow and birds that chirp by my bedroom window every morning! Have you heard their singing? It is breath to these tired winter bones.
Well, I have another favorite things blog for your eyes to delight in. Maybe they will become some of your new fav things too-cause good things spread. :)

COACH PERFUME. oh my goodness. bless those who created this scent and why have they been keeping it from my senses? Shame on them whoever they are. As I walked through Bloomingdale's last week my eyes plopped upon this scent. Curiously I sprayed on my wrist and as I whiffed it in I found myself instantly reaching for another spray to dose on me! This time though I sprayed it on my scarf so every time I wear my purple chiffon I delight in it's fragrance. Until I can afford, I will find satisfaction in this method! hehe! Have you caught a whiff? Do you love?!

BIRDCAGES! I have always looked at birdcages as fun objects to decorate with outside but it was a client of mine, Shirlee, who really drew my eye to them and added a new light. She is fairly obsessed and will openly admit her room is cluttered with them as she prepares for her September wedding. Her finance gaily laughs at her obsession as my eyes twinkle with delight at their cuteness. So now I find myself looking for them and loving their unique designs. Isn't this picture super fun? I'm loving.

More to come in the coming days, my friends. What are you finding joy in these days? Do share!
