let's hear it for the boys.

Oh, the boys. They simply do anything for the girl they love. They listen to the cares that are attached to every detail of the wedding day, they hand out tissues when the wedding day becomes stressful, they pick out cakes, sit through meetings with the coordinator, listen to DJ's, look at swatches and... yes, they even wear a flower.
{let's hear it for the boys}
Most of my posts are geared for the gals because let's face it-they are the ones way into the details of the day and their guy really just wants to make them happy. Yesterday, I met with one of my June couples and the groom announced to me he reads my blogs! I was pleasantly happy to hear this news and in his honor and any other readers of the male gene-this ones for you. :)
So, the new boutonniere trends are taking a twist. Gone are the days of tradition. Anything goes today and that includes anything. Oh yeah, take a look at these hot trends!

A tuff of berries are simple and beautiful without being a flower.

Take the theme of your wedding and turn that into a bout. Be creative and make it a DIY project.

Fabric bouts! How completely great are these? I LOVE!

Peacock feathers are smokin' hot right now. They pretty much sizzle with greatness.

A birds nest-sure and why not? If the theme is garden this will fit into perfection!

It's all about making it your own. Don't conform to what everyone else is doing. Who you are as a couple is an amazing thing-transform that into your day in every detail.

meet Mai...

...she is the sweetest girl ever.
For all my up-coming brides and grooms to be you will see this beautiful girl alongside me at your wedding!
Mai found me through a mutual friend [and also bride to be!] around the exact time I was looking for an intern. She applied and within 5 minutes of us sitting down for our coffee, I knew. I knew she would be my intern. I saw a young woman a lot like me when I was in my early 20's who was hungry to know more about weddings, has natural skills of organization and attention to detail, and a love for all things wedding related.
I was in love with her.
The more time I spend with her, the more I am confident and happy that she is the perfect fit for Elizabeth Anne Weddings.
Pretty sure you will love her. :)

and fyi:we both randomly wore yellow! cause that's how we roll.

these are a few of my favorite things..

I love these posts because I feel it's important to love and appreciate the little things in life as well as the big things.
heyyy. hey.
vintage chairs. Really crazy about all vintage chairs with a modern edge. They bring such funky fun to a room. Indulge friends - in vintage-ness. Double dare you.

little house on the prairie. you read right. It's a new obsession, I cannot lie. I will be the first to admit that I used to mock this series but one day I got it for Gretchen at the library and suddenly I'm the one hooked. My fav: Caroline. She is such an amazing wife/mom.

white cherry trees. be still my heart. I long for one of these outside my window as I gaze on it's beauty and breathe in it's essence...
Happy Saturday! :)

my big girl.

"There are times when I look at you and I am so filled with loving goosebumps. I think 'that little girl is my daughter' ... and I'm so grateful for you." November 28, 2000

In exactly 24 hours, my Gretchen will turn 10. Ten is a big year. I still recall the year I turned 10. You feel so old, no longer in single digits and entering into 5th grade-it's huge! Birthdays are a big deal in our house. I suppose you can thank my dad for that. Growing up, he basked in his birthdays and it's carried into our lives today. Gretchen has absolutely gotten the same birthday lovin' trait. She has literally been talking about her big 10 for weeks non-stop... yes, I feel the pressure. :)
Today, I got out the journal I've been keeping for her since she was born. I like to write down cute things she did or said, milestones accomplished and joys shared. It always pulls me back & keeps me grounded in what matters most in this life. She has been a joy to us since she was born ten years ago-a day I will always treasure in my life. There is nothing like having your firstborn child wrapped in your arms that first time.
"When I saw your face, fingers, toes and your little body, everything faded and there was only you and I in the room. Dad was running around with the camera and holding you. I started crying because I wanted to hold you so bad-the nurse called him over and placed you next to me. It was an indescribable moment. You were beautiful and mine. After nine months of carrying you, I could finally meet you." April 13, 2000

Happy Birthday to my sweet girl, now 10-still blossoming. I love you.

wedding websites

Can I get married again just to create a wedding website? Seriously-um, can I? :)
Wedding websites are a huge trend right now and they are a lot of fun to create too. Better yet-most are free. Yippee! :D They can be as detailed as you have time to make it and can include how you two met, engagement pictures, and pictures of your wedding party. Directions to the site for out of town guests along with accommodations are also a huge plus.

These are some of my personal favs:

What are you waiting for? GO-design yours! :)

inspiration.

I adore looking at inspiration boards and watching the inspiration come into reality with an event. It takes a vision of details, color palettes and theme and turns it into a beautiful scene before your eyes.
When Suwanee Lennon approached me about coordinating a wedding photo shoot I was instantly giddy and knew just what theme I wanted to flow in. The shoot was this week and you will have to wait to see some of the AMAZING shots we scored! I will, however, give you a sneak peek on the board to tingle your senses.

delights.

Easter is my favorite holiday.
In every way, it delights my soul.

Last week my sister and I had an Easter egg hunt for the kids. Here's my buddy oblivious of the pink basket - happy to find the sugar balls. :)

...and the girls-picking through mush to find treasures. So happy to be breathing in the spring air.

Have a delightful Easter celebrating our Lord!
